“It started with a vision!”

On 24/10/08 febi bilstein celebrated the opening of its new logistics centre in Ennepetal with 250 guests from the business, media and political communities together with members of its own workforce.

After months of project planning and about 1 ½ years building time, the time had finally arrived: The largest investment in its corporate history was officially inaugurated. febi has spent a total of 35 mio. € on the construction of its new logistic centre.

In his speech, febi’s Managing Director Dieter Siekermann stated, that the project began with a vision: A vision of allowing febi bilstein to continuously grow at its location in Ennepetal. Siekermann remarked that “the new logistic centre is a sign of a new era of further progress and development”. The construction of the logistics centre ensures a strengthening of febi’s position in the global market. This investment helps febi to reinforce its position as a market leader and also to secure jobs at the Ennepetal site.

Ennepetal’s mayor, Michael Eckhardt, praised febi’s commitment to social responsibility: “The promotion of the local economy is key to the development of our town, and we should all ensure that people who take this perspective are supported.”

Also Witron, the company responsible for development of the internal logistics infrastructure, and the local firm of architects Frey + Frey, who as main contractor was responsible for the whole project, congratulated febi on the implementation of their vision and the completion of the impressive building.

The architect, Wolfgang Frey, symbolically handed the keys over to the febi management and staff.

When the official part had finished, all guests were invited to help themselves to food and drink at the large buffet and share their impressions. Each guest also had the opportunity to join a guided tour through the logistic centre to get an impression of the new facilities.
